Fodor's Expert Review Restaurante Casa Lupita
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
This is one of the more-formal dining options (i.e. the tables are not plastic) on the island, but you'll still feel right at home in jeans. The Spanish owners have decorated the walls with old, and sometimes rare, pictures of Isla Holbox in the 1940s. This is one of the few places in town where you can get Mexican dishes like quesadillas de huitlacoche (corn truffle), as well as some Spanish-inspired plates. In addition to salads, hamburgers, and vegetarian dishes, they also serve one of the most reasonably priced lobsters (around $30) in the area.
