A salmon-color replica of a 19th-century French colonial mansion, the Presidente is a bit of a hike from the main plaza but sits right next to the Santiago church and a small public square, where a live band attracts whirling couples on Tuesday evenings. Handsome guest rooms have modern furniture, cable TVs, blow-dryers, and large closets.
