Yoga is popular in San Miguel, and there are many opportunities to practice; most classes are bilingual. Here are a few studios and their approaches.

Centro de Yoga Shakti. Centro de Yoga Shakti features vinyasa-style classes run by Tanya Kawan, who trained with Rodney Yee at Kripalu Center, in Massachusetts. Escencia Yoga Spa. Escencia offers hot, therapeutic, and vinyasa yoga classes (group or private); teacher training certification programs are ongoing. Pay for a drop-in class, buy a 10-class package (no expiration date), or choose unlimited monthly classes, all for a reasonable fees. The spa gives manis, pedis, facials, and body treatments as well as cosmetic dentistry, Botox and Restylane treatments, and color and aromatherapy treatments. There's a hair salon as well. Yoga San Miguel. Iyengar-certified Margaretta Sander teaches twice-weekly classes for beginners and more advanced students, emphasizing correct execution of the poses and offering advice and yoga postures for injuries or ailments like high blood pressure or arthritis. She also trains instructors and has a once-a-month restorative yoga session: calming, gentle postures using lots of props. See her website for the current schedule.
