Outdoor Adventuring

BICI–BURRO. BICI–BURRO rents bikes and equipment from its downtown location. The owner, Beto, grew up riding his bike in and around San Miguel, then a small town, and knows great trails for mountain bikers and hikers with different degrees of expertise. In addition to two hiking routes and 10 biking tours, Beto offers a package with biking and an overnight stay in a two-bedroom apartment. Calle Hospicio 1, El Centro, San Miguel de Allende, GUA, 37700. 415/152–1526. www.bici-burro.com.

Bookatour. Bookatour offers hot-air ballooning, as well as city tours in San Miguel and beyond (including Dolores Hidalgo, Pozos, and the monarch butterfly sanctuary of Michoacán). It also leads tours on horseback, ATV, and mountain bike as well as hiking trips. Codo 1, El Centro, San Miguel de Allende, GUA, 37700. 415/152–0198. www.bookatour.mx.

Coyote Canyon Adventures. Coyote Canyon Adventures offers hiking, rappelling, ballooning, mountain biking, and overnight camping on its own ranch. Its specialty is horseback riding: a weeklong trail ride goes from San Miguel to Guanajuato, or you can ride by the hour, half day, or full day, ending with a country-style meal at its ranch. The enthusiastic tour manager, Rodrigo Landeros, speaks excellent English and is happy to design a tour just for you. 415/154–4193. www.coyotecanyonadventures.com.
