This is the name of both a small village and a deep, V-shaped, rocky bay that lie at the mouth ("boca" means mouth) of the Río Horcones, about 5 km (3 mi) south of Mismaloya and 17 km (10½ mi) south of PV. Water taxis leave from Boca to the southern beaches; you can arrange snorkeling trips to Los Arcos. As far as most visitors are concerned, this is mainly the staging area for water taxis with nowhere else to hang out. However, this dramatic-looking bay fringed in palm trees does have a rustic appeal. Grocery stores sell chips, Cokes, and plastic water toys for tots; a handful of informal seaside cafés cluster at the water's edge. At very low tide only, it's possible for adventurers and cheapskates to walk south from Boca to Playa Las Animas (about 40 minutes) along a small path at waters' edge.
