Fodor's Expert Review Tezka

Located in the Hotel Royal, Tezka was launched in 1994 by legendary Basque chef Juan Mari Arzak, who brought many of his best dishes to Mexico from his restaurant in San Sebastían, Spain. Now helmed by local chef Francisco Flores, a Mexican influence is finding its way into the menu, with tasty results: oxtail-stuffed piquillo peppers have a sauce of poblano chili; the corn fungus huitlacoche adorns grilled fish with caramelized corn nuts. While other restaurants have stolen Tezka's limelight in recent years, it remains a good place for a luxe meal in the Zona Rosa; it also features one of the city's better Spanish wine lists.
