Distrito Capital

Av. Juan Salvador Agraz 37, col. Santa Fé, Mexico City, CDMX 05300, Mexico

Why We Like It

If you have to stay in Santa Fe but want modern urban style, this is the best bet in the area.

Fodor's Expert Review

One of the newer hotels in the Grupo Habita collection, Distrito Capital is also one of their best. Though its location in the businesslike and somewhat unfashionable Santa Fé neighborhood is inconvenient for anyone who doesn't have to be in that area for work, it's a true oasis among nondescript chain hotels.

Room

Mid-century modern style in black, white, and grey with a few pops of color. High ceilings mean even the smallest rooms feel spacious. Rooms are located on floors 25 to 28, and have spectacular views, especially the Corner Suites.

You Should Know Rooms have AC but no heat, which occasionally can be an issue during winter months, though the hotel can provide space heaters.

Bathroom

The room's sound system includes bathroom speakers. Rainshowers add to the spa-like feeling. Amenities are from Acqua di Parma.

Lobby

The 5th floor lobby is in bold black and white and designed by Mexican firm Diametro Arquitectos. There is also a library with books on Mexican art, architecture, culture, and history.

Pool

43-foot pool—located on the 5th floor lobby level—has a large sundeck, bar, and other seating areas. The bar and pool area become clubby at night, open until 2am Thursday-Saturday.

Spa

There is no spa per se, but in-room massages and other spa treatments can be arranged.

Gym

Modern and well-equipped.

Dining

The on-site restaurant, from chef Patricia Silvera, is very good, serving international cuisine in an elegant space with marble tables and a large fireplace.

Drinking

Drinks are pricey but good at the 5th floor pool terrace; it becomes a trendy scene after dark.
