Chaya B&B
Doctor Mora #9, Barrio Alameda 3rd Floor, Col. Centro, Mexico City, CDMX 06050, MexicoWhy We Like It
One of the most stylish B&Bs in town, in a terrific location.
Fodor's Expert Review
On the edge of Alameda Park in the NW corner of the Centro Histórico, Chaya B&B is located atop a multi-use building (a converted Art Deco home) with a mezcal bar, tattoo shop, yoga studio, and more, reflecting the historic neighborhood's emergence as a hotspot for artists and other creative types. Stylish, if spartan, rooms surround a lovely rooftop terrace with hammocks. "Chaya" is a chard-like green used in Yucatecan cuisine.
You Should Know The hotel is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator.

Room
Rooms range from the snug 215 sq. ft. standard rooms to the 450 sq. ft. Master Suite.
Tip The rooms are no smoking, but they face the large terrace where smoking is allowed. This is either a bonus for smokers who can do so just outside their rooms, or a problem for smoke-sensitive guests.
Bathroom
High-end bath amenities are by the independent Mexico City brand LoredAna.
Lobby
Ask for help with your bags to make the 3-floor hike (climbing stairs can be a chore with the city's 7400-foot altitude).
Dining
Breakfasts are terrific, and a good time to get to know fellow guests. Two good restaurants, Cancino and Butcher & Sons, are in the same building.
Drinking
The on-site bar lets you bring drinks onto the terrace.
