Air Travel
Several major airlines fly nonstop from major U.S. cities like Houston, Miami, Atlanta, and Dallas to Roatán. Charter flights on IBC Air are available Wednesdays and Sundays direct from Fort Lauderdale to Roatán. but be aware the airline has been known to cancel flights if there are not enough passengers and it is not under regular airline rules regarding passenger compensation for delayed flights.
From within Honduras, Avianca, CM Airlines, and Sosa offer daily flights from San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, and La Ceiba to Roatán. Sosa also flies six days a week to Guanaja and Utila. Avianca and Lanhsa have charter flights to Roatán and Guanaja from La Ceiba as well. CM Airlines also offers a direct flight from Roatán to Utila on Saturdays; many travelers find this a preferable option to taking the ferries since it is only a 15-minute flight, and the ferry crossings can be rough. Island Air offers direct charter flights at any time and day of your choosing between Roatán, Utila, Guanaja, and La Ceiba, but there is a minimum of four passengers for the flights to happen.

About 1½ km (1 mile) from Coxen Hole, Roatán International Airport is the destination for all international flights and most domestic flights headed to the Bay Islands. You can also fly into the smaller airports on Guanaja and Utila.
