When to Go

The northern coast is hot and humid year-round. The rainy season here runs from October through January (compared to May to November in the interior), although wet weather can come at any time of year. June, July, and August are usually hot and dry. Heavy rains are likely to cause flooding and mudslides along highways, and rafting tours and boat trips will cancel activities in the event of a storm.
