The Guatemala Tourist Commission, known as INGUAT, has offices in Guatemala City (city and airport), Antigua, Panajachel, Quetzaltenango, and Flores (city and airport). The Antigua and Panajachel offices are excellent; staff members at the others are helpful but have few resources beyond free maps to hand out. The offices can also put you in contact with the Tourist Police, who run free escort services to visit popular sights. The ubiquitous "tourist information" signs you see around Antigua, Panajachel, Quetzaltenango, and Flores are private agencies looking to sell you their own tours rather than unbiased sources of information.
