Bus and Shuttle Travel

Several companies run daily shuttles between Guatemala City and Antigua. Adrenalina, Atitrans, and Turansa are all reputable companies. These 12- to 18-seat minivans pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. You share transportation with other passengers headed in the same direction, but it's a terrific way to get around Guatemala. Make sure to reserve and pay at least a day in advance. Although public buses travel frequently between Guatemala City and Antigua, safety is a problem on this route, so stick with the shuttles. Adrenalina, Atitrans, and Turansa also offer service to the highlands, with costs ranging from Q100 for Chichicastenango and Panajachel to Q200 for Quetzaltenango.
