Seeing the Ruins

Your hotel in Orange Walk Town or Corozal Town can arrange tours to Lamanai, Cerros, and other sites, starting at around BZ$80 per person. In Orange Walk, Reyes & Sons River Tours, Lamanai Eco-Adventures, and J. Avila & Sons run boat trips up the New River to Lamanai. In Corozal Town, Belize VIP Transfers can arrange tours of Cerros, Santa Rita, and elsewhere. In Sarteneja, members of the Sarteneja Tour Guide Association can arrange tours to Shipstern, Cerros, and Bacalar Chica on North Ambergris Caye.

Lamanai Eco Adventures. Located on the west side of the Philip Goldson Highway at Tower Hill and the New River, Lamanai Eco Adventures has several tours up the New River to Lamanai. Rates are around BZ$80. Depending on the season, there are two to three tours a day, with the first one departing Orange Walk around 8 am. The company does both individual and cruise ship tours. Reyes & Sons River Tours. Located on the east side of the Philip Goldson Highway just south of the Tower Hill bridge, Reyes & Sons is a veteran boat and tour operator. It offers daily boat trips, leaving around 9 am, up the New River to the New River Lagoon and Lamanai Maya site. The rate of BZ$80 per person includes the boat ride, admission to Lamanai and a light lunch. Unlike most other New River/Lamanai operators, Reyes doesn't cater to cruise ship tours and instead takes individual visitors. Snorkeling

From Sarteneja, Sarteneja Adventure Tours can take you to Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve and National Park off North Ambergris Caye. Full-day rates include guide, park admission, snorkeling gear, and lunch.
