Bus Travel and Shuttle Service

Buses between Belize City and Corozal run about every half hour during daylight hours in both directions, and some of these continue on to Chetumal, Mexico. Several small bus lines make the 3- to 3½-hour journey between Belize City and Corozal Town/Chetumal. Northbound buses depart from the Novelo's bus station on West Collet Canal St. in Belzie City beginning at 5:30 am, with the last departure around 7:30 pm. Southbound buses begin around 3:45 am, with the last departure at 7:30 pm. Any nonexpress bus will stop and pick up almost anywhere along the highway.

Bus service to the villages and other sites off the Goldson Highway is limited, so to reach them you're best off with a rental car or a guided tour. There is some bus service on the Old Northern Highway and from Orange Walk to Sarteneja. Ask locally for updates on bus lines, routes, and fares.
