4 Best Nightlife in Belize City, Belize

The Tavern

Commercial District Fodor's choice

A longtime favorite among expats, visitors, and locals alike, The Tavern serves drinks before dinner on the covered patio overlooking Haulover Creek or inside at the bar. Park your car safely in a fenced, guarded lot next to the tavern and restaurant.

Baymen's Tavern

Fort George

This downtown bar at the Radisson Fort George is a comfortable, safe place to sip a rum and tonic, with live entertainment on weekends, usually a singer or a small band. There's also a more casual section of the bar, on an open-air deck, with views of a garden and the sea. On weekends, this bar jumps, with a mostly local crowd.

Casino at Ramada by Wyndham Princess Hotel Belize City

Marine Parade Harbor Front

The only serious gambling in town is at the Ramada Princess Hotel, which has live tables for blackjack, roulette, and poker, along with about 400 slots. There are free drinks and a buffet for players, along with dance shows, two movie theaters, and a dance club. It's open 365 days a year until the wee hours of the morning. Gamble here if you like, but we don't recommend staying at the lackluster hotel.

Di Bruwry

Belikin, the country's iconic beer, operates this pub at its brewery across from the international airport. (The name is Kriol for "the brewery.") You'll find the various Belikins on tap, of course, accompanied by standard pub-grub fare—burgers, sandwiches, fries, and salads. Choose from blissful indoor a/c or grab a seat outside on the covered patio.
