Fodor's Expert Review St. Tudno Hotel
Promenade, Llandudno, Conwy, LL30 2LP, Wales
Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.
Perfectly situated on the seafront promenade overlooking the beach and pier, this hotel has been run by the same family for nearly 40 years. This shows in the attention to detail, from the housemade biscuits that greet you on arrival to the well-kept secret garden at the back. The hotel is famous for its connection to Lewis Carroll; the author visited the real "Alice" and her family in this house while they were staying here in 1861. Bedrooms are bright and spacious; the largest is called "The Alice Suite," and some have whirlpool baths. The restaurant serves good contemporary cuisine like lamb marinated in Welsh Black Bitter.
