Skiing

Leukerbad has 90 km (43 miles) of downhill and cross-country runs at varying levels of difficulty, including some used for World Cup training and testing. The ski season usually runs mid-December–mid-April. Skiers can choose between taking the Torrent cable car, which whisks skiers to up to 8,563 feet and offers 50 km (31 miles) of slopes, from beginner to expert, or the Gemmi cable car, which reaches 7,710 feet and is great for cross-country skiing (17 km [10½ miles] of trails), tobogganing, and snowshoeing. A one-day ski pass including a visit to one of the public spas is 64 SF; from June to October the price (without ski pass) is reduced to 43 SF.
