Skiing

Davos can accommodate some 24,000 visitors on 300 km (186½ miles) of runs. The fairly steep slopes of the Parsenn-Gotschna are accessed from town by the Parsenn funicular. For an alternative, try the Rinerhorn, a 15-minute ride by bus or train. Here the slopes lead to the hamlet of Glaris, 7 km (4½ miles) from Davos. A must for the skilled skier is the descent from Weissfluhgipfel (9,330 feet) to Küblis, in the Prättigau. This magnificent 13-km (8-mile) piste has a vertical drop of 6,560 feet and is classified as difficult at the top but moderate for most of its length. A real challenge for experts is the three-hour tour across the mountains to Arosa—which requires a guide and good weather conditions. An easy 2-km (1-mile) run is No. 11, the Meierhofer Tälli. Jakobshorn, a ski and snowboard area on the west-facing side, is reached by a cable car and lift from Davos Platz. The Pischa ski area, on the Flüela Pass road, is a free-ride paradise, and especially suitable for children and families—as is the Bünda slope in Davos Dorf.

Lift tickets to the combined Davos–Klosters area cost 143 SF for two days, 342 SF for six days, and include transport between the ski areas.
