Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Languard
Via Veglia 14, St. Moritz, Graubünden, 7500, Switzerland
Set in the town center, this delightful little hotel shares the Kulm's lovely mountain views, but not its prices. Details like sgraffiti, carved ceilings, and fine darkened pine in some rooms preserve the best from its earlier days. The big corner guest rooms deserve their higher price; back rooms are small, but all have tile baths. Front rooms have mountain and lake views, and some also have balconies. In the small sitting area, check out the collection of skiing trophies won by the owner's father, who used to run St. Moritz's ski school.
PROS
- affordable (for St. Moritz) with five-star views
- central location
- charming wood interiors
CONS
- no spa or restaurant (though guests can use Crystal Hotel's spa)
- bathrooms are a bit dark
- steep climb up from the train station
