Skiing in Graubünden

With Davos, site of the world's first ski lift; St. Moritz, arguably the world's ritziest resort; and other hot spots within its confines, Graubünden has earned its reputation as the ultimate winter destination. You'll find downhill skiing and snowboarding for all skill levels, as well as miles of Langlauf (cross-country skiing) trails prepared for both the classic and skating techniques.

Sports shops can outfit you with the necessary equipment; in Davos, you can even rent ski clothing. If you plan to spend a few days in one resort, check with local tourist offices for special packages. If you want to spend a day in a different resort within Graubünden, buy the lift ticket with your train ticket and the return fare will be reduced. Remember that accidents do occur, especially in unmarked zones. Avoid such areas unless you are suitably equipped and led by a qualified guide.
