Fodor's Expert Review Clarion Sign
Östra Järnvägsg. 35, Stockholm, 101 26, Sweden
Neither pure business behemoth nor dictionary-definition boutique, Clarion Sign is a well-balanced and very pleasant addition to Stockholm's hotel scene. Big, brash, and right by Central Station, this member of the Choice Hotels chain has two main selling points: a roof terrace with a year-round pool (fantastic), and the first home-turf restaurant helmed by the Swedish-born chef Marcus Samuelsson at street level (just OK). As for the rooms, they are big on Scandinavian design, generous in size, and somewhere near the middle on the luxury scale.
PROS
- big rooms
- great roof terrace
CONS
- drab location
- crowded public areas
