However, Madrid and Barcelona feel very different, and you’ll find huge contrasts in their landscapes, culture, and ambience. Logistics: Take the high-speed train (AVE) from Madrid to Barcelona (2 hours 30 minutes). For the return journey, fly from Barcelona to Madrid Barajas Airport in time to catch your flight home.
