Fodor's Expert Review Arroyo Hondo
Tucked in one of the many bends on the road from Estepona, this local favorite fuses Mediterranean, Japanese, and Thai cuisines. The rustic interior, in ocher tones with a log fire, makes for cozy meals, and the terrace and poolside tables are perfect for alfresco dining with panoramic vistas. Start with chicken karaage (deep-fried Japanese-style), then follow with braised oxtail, roast pork belly, or loin of venison Wellington. Vegetarian options include a truffle-scented mushroom tart. The three-course set menu (€15) is a sound option. Reservations are advised in the summer and on weekends.
