When to Go
The Canaries enjoy warmth in the winter and cool breezes in summer. Regardless of the time of year you visit, expect highs of about 75°F and lows of about 60°F. Winter, especially Christmas, and Easter are peak tourism periods for northern Europeans, while Spaniards and Italians tend to come in the summer, particularly August, to escape the sweltering heat. October, when the summer heat and the winds drop, and spring, when a profusion of wildflowers colors the islands, are the most beautiful times to be here. Since the Canaries are a year-round destination, prices tend to be roughly the same no matter when you come, barring the holiday season. You may have some luck negotiating discounts during the slowest months, May and November.
