Cable Car and Funicular Travel

The Montjuïc Funicular is a cog railway that runs from the junction of Avinguda Paral.lel and Nou de la Rambla ( Paral.lel) to Montjuïc Castle, with stops en route at Parc de Monjuïc and Miramar. It operates weekdays 7:30 am–8 pm and weekends 9 am–9 pm; the fare is €2.15, or one ride on a T10 card.

A Transbordador Aeri del Port (Harbor Cable Car) runs between Miramar and Montjuïc across the harbor to Torre de Jaume I, on Barcelona’s moll (quay), and on to Torre de Sant Sebastià, at the end of Passeig Joan de Borbó in Barceloneta. You can board at either stage. One-way fare is €11; round-trip fare is €16.50. The car runs every eight minutes, November–February 11 am–5:30 pm, March–May and September and October 11 am–7 pm, and June–August 11 am–8 pm.

To reach the summit of Tibidabo, take the metro to Avinguda de Tibidabo, then the Tramvía Blau (€5.50 one way) to Peu del Funicular, and finally the Tibidabo Funicular (€7.70 round-trip; €4.10 with purchase of admission to the Tibidabo Amusement Park) from there to the top. The Tramvia runs daily March–December, and weekends only in February. Generally it runs every 15–30 minutes, beginning at 10 am and finishing at dusk (around 6 pm in winter and 8 pm in summer).
