Air

There are no direct flights between North America and Slovenia. The Slovenian national carrier, Adria Airways, closed in 2019, but several low-cost airlines, such as EasyJet and Wizz Air, serve Ljubljana.

The Ljubljana Airport is at Brnik, 25 km (16 miles) north of the city. Public bus service runs regularly between the airport and Ljubljana's main bus station in the city center. Buses depart from the airport every hour on the hour weekdays and slightly less frequently on weekends. Tickets cost around €4. A private airport shuttle called GoOpti makes the same trip in slightly less time; departures average every 90 minutes or so. Tickets can cost as low as €9, but booking in advance is a must. A taxi costs approximately €30, and the ride takes about 30 minutes.
