To see one of Plečnik's most dramatic structures, ride Bus No. 2, 7, or 22 from the post office out to Žale, a cemetery and memorial designed by the architect in 1940. Plečnik's entryway, in the form of a Roman peristyle, is impressive and the cemetery itself contains the tombs of many prominent Slovenes.
