Fodor's Expert Review Križanke Poletno Gledališče

Ljubljana Arts/Performance Venue

In the courtyard of an 18th-century monastery, this open-air theater was constructed according to plans drawn up by Jože Plečnik. The famous architect used door and window frames, statues, and other pieces taken from houses that were demolished in Ljubliana during the urban renewal following the 1895 earthquake, which had left many buildings unsafe for use. The theater seats 1,400, and there's a movable roof in case of rain.
