Bled is among the most magnificently situated mountain resorts in Europe. The healing powers of its thermal springs were known during the 17th century. In the early 19th century the aristocracy arrived to bask in Bled's tranquil alpine setting. Bled is also an excellent base for hikes into the eastern half of Triglav National Park.
