When to Go

Peak Season: June to August

Serbia's temperamental weather makes the short summer the ideal time to explore the countries pristine rivers, forests, mountains, and mineral springs. Summer is also festival season, affording the most culture experiences.

Off Season: November to April

Snow and cold mark Serbia's winter months—perfect weather for skiers and snowboarders who flock to the mountain ranges of Kopaonik. The prices (and the slopes) aren't as steep as other winter destinations in Europe.

Shoulder Season: May, September to October

Serbia's leafy green landscape turn a light gold, red, and orange in the autumn. This is when locals press the season's grape harvests into wine, especially at the annual autumn festival in Smederevo. The spring snowmelt makes certain areas muddy, but the country's many mineral spas make good use of it.
