Situated in the countryside 8 miles west of Dingwall, this magnificent Georgian manor offers stylish rooms with mountain views, comfortable lounges with log fireplaces, and an excellent restaurant that's open all day. The house is surrounded by beautifully cultivated lawns and somewhat wilder forests, where you'll find a host of hiking and biking trails—including two magical woodland walks for the little ones (they can pick from "fairies" or "scaries"). Look out for the enormous Douglas fir to one side of the house; it was planted by David Douglas himself in 1827.
