From its vantage point in splendid isolation on the top of a cliff, the Portpatrick Hotel has wonderful views across the Mull of Galloway. Its turreted buildings add to the panorama. While it's not right in the village of Portpatrick, it's still a good base to visit the attractions of the area, including its outstanding walks and beautiful gardens.
