Inverleith Hotel
5 Inverleith Terr., Edinburgh, Edinburgh, EH3 4NS, Scotland, Edinburgh, ScotlandWhy We Like It
A very green spot to stay, right opposite the Royal Botanical Gardens, well-priced Inverleith Hotel combines the friendly welcome of a traditional B&B with the more professional feel of a small hotel, and the reception/bar is cute.
Fodor's Expert Review
Across from the Royal Botanical Gardens, this renovated Victorian town house offers great value for money and a friendly welcome from manager Sheree. In winter, when the surrounding trees lose their leaves, a couple of the south-facing rooms have views of the castle. It's a little out-of-the-way (a 20-minute walk to the center), but there are several good restaurants and cafés are nearby.
You Should Know The hotel is an old building and some rooms are up two flights of stairs. Some of the rooms are also quite small, although they are priced extremely competitively to reflect this.

Getting Around
The hotel is a bit off the beaten track, but still within 20-30 minutes' walk of the main attractions. The plus side of its location is its tucked away feel.
Restaurants
The Orchard Bar and Restaurant (2-minute walk) is a stylish, family-friendly pub offering good roasts. Or try Coro the Chocolate Cafe (3-minute walk), where they "pour chocolate over everything", from pancakes to waffles (although there are some savory options left un-chocolated).
