Why We Like It

A friendly welcome, a calm feel, and a few four poster beds thrown into the mix (at affordable prices), plus you're close to Arthur's Seat for some great views of the city. Not in the heart of the action but sometimes that can make for a more authentic stay.

Fodor's Expert Review

Four-poster beds, a tranquil location, and bountiful breakfasts set this Victorian town house B&B apart. There's a very chic little water feature in the Japanese-stylgarden as you approach the property, and the trickling water sets the relaxing tone for the whole experience of staying at AmarAgua. The B&B is 10 minutes by bus from the city center, or around half an hour's walk.

You Should Know There's a two-night minimum stay policy.

Room

Who doesn't love a classic four poster or a view of Arthur's Seat from their B&B bedroom? Rooms have some tartan stylings and are quiet and comfortable. There are thoughtful extras like blackout blinds and irons and ironing boards alongside the digital TVs and coffee and tea making facilities.

Bathroom

All rooms apart from No 4 have en suite bathrooms, which are reasonably sized and modern, with reliably warm water.

Lobby

Kuan and Lucia are there to welcome guests at check-in, and indeed are often available to answer any questions or provide helpful, kind tips at other times.

Dining

Alongside traditional cooked breakfasts that include waffles served with fruit and maple syrup, there's a carry-out option if you're leaving early to catch a bus or plane.
