Sporting Glory Museum. Founded by the Sochi mayor in 2010, this museum houses a collection of Russian memorabilia from former Olympic Games, including medals and costumes, as well as a wall of flat-screen TVs for viewing past Games like the 1980 Olympics in Moscow. The collection is small for now, but the museum expects to add much more items from the upcoming games, and perhaps change locations to a bigger space in the future. It is currently located in Sochi's central plaza on Sovetskaya ul. near Sochi State University. 26А Sovetskaya ul., CenterCity, Sochi, Krasnodarskiy. 928/448-90-85. www.kulturasochi.ru.

Fischt Olympic Stadium. Named for—and architecturally inspired by—the tallest mountain in the Caucasus, the Mt. Fischt stadium has a clear roof that will allow spectators to see mountains to the north and the sea to the south. The stadium will host the opening, closing, and awards ceremonies at the 2014 Olympics and will be used for football matches and concerts after the games. Bolshoy Ice Dome. This freshly built multi-purpose arena fits 12,000 spectators and will be used for ice hockey games during the Olympics. After the Olympics, the arena will be used for sporting events and concerts. The Bolshoy is said to resemble the famous Russian cultural icon, the Faberge Egg, but some say it looks more like a hockey puck.
