Armação de Pêra

If it weren't for the interesting seascapes, beautiful beaches, and interesting eateries, this massively overdeveloped community wouldn't be worth a visit. Local captains can take you on two-hour cruises to caves and grottoes along the shore past the Praia Nossa Senhora da Rocha (Beach of Our Lady of the Rocks)—a strand named after the Romanesque chapel above it. To arrange tours, head to Praia Armação de Pêra—a wide sandy beach with a promenade—and speak with the fishermen.
