Fodor's Expert Review Pestana Porto -- A Brasileira

Lots of the original architectural flourishes were retained when this local landmark was transformed into the Pestana Porto, including stained-glass windows, towering columns, and coffered ceilings. Pestana also brought back the famous Café A Brasileira, a popular gathering place that is once again an elegant spot for morning coffee or afternoon tea. In addition, a formal dining restaurant serves creative Portuguese cuisine. Some of the beautifully decorated rooms have small balconies with impressive views over the streets of downtown.
