Train

International and long-distance trains arrive at Santa Apolónia station, to the east of Lisbon's center, after passing through Gare do Oriente, where commuter trains from south of the river, and fast trains from the Algarve also stop. Services to Sintra use Rossio station, a neo-Manueline building just off Rossio square itself. Trains along the Estoril Coast terminate at the waterfront Cais do Sodré station.

Travel within in the city is more convenient by subway or tram, but the Cascais train line departing from Cais do Sodré is handy for some destinations in neighborhoods like Santos, Alcântara, and Belém.
