Why We Like It
This is a smart, modern luxury hotel with attentive staff and first-rate facilities. The Executive Lounge, spa, and gym are all particularly impressive, and the standard of accommodations is good across the board. The hotel is close to the business district and airport but has good links to sightseeing via the close-at-hand metro.

This luxurious high-rise close to the airport and business district might not have the most scenic location in Lisbon, but its spacious rooms and suites, top-notch facilities and service make it a popular choice for business and leisure travelers. Close to a metro station, it's a short hop to the city's main sights and attractions, and the hotel is close to one of Lisbon's top cultural centers, the Gulbenkian. Rooms and suites on the higher floors have great views over the city, while the spa, pool, and sun terrace up the relaxation factor. There are good on-site bars and restaurants, impressive business facilities, and an Executive Lounge on the top floor with complimentary drinks, snacks, newspapers, and panoramic views.
Tip Luxury hotels in modern Lisbon are generally more spacious and better-priced than five-stars in the more picturesque historic center.

Room
Rooms and suites at the Corinthia Lisboa are spacious and comfortable across the board, and while the neutral decor is a little underwhelming, there are plenty of nice modern touches, with LCD HD televisions, speedy Wi-Fi and cable TV as standard. Rooms in the higher price categories have Nespresso machines, and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows taking in views across Lisbon's impressive aqueduct and beyond. Executive Suites and above have access to the Sky Lounge, and have plusher furnishings as well as large living areas and a private check in/checkout desk. Interconnecting Family Rooms sleep up to five, and kids aged 12 and under stay free.
Tip The Executive Suites are well worth the extra if the budget allows for an upgrade (and you can offset the expense by taking advantage of the free food, drinks, and Wi-Fi).
Bathroom
Decorated in the same neutral tones as the rooms, the sparkling clean bathrooms have tubs and overhead showers. Family Rooms have two bathrooms, and all bathrooms have comfortable robes and slippers. Amenities are by ESPA.
Lobby
Smartly-attired door staff help guests with their luggage as they enter the smart lobby, which has a main reception and a separate, private check-in for guests staying in rooms and suites at the higher end of the price scale. There's a comfortable bar on the lobby level, too.
Pool
Located inside the plush spa, Corinthia Lisboa has a heated indoor lap pool, open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. each day. An adjoining sun terrace with loungers is a nice place to dry off and work on that tan without the need to take a trip out to the beach.
You Should Know Swimming caps are mandatory, bring your own or pay a few euros to pick one up at the spa entrance.
Spa
The second-floor spa is a major plus for guests looking for a little R&R, with 13 treatment rooms offering all manner of pampering and/or beautifying experiences, mainly using ESPA products. As well as scrubs, massages and manicures, there's an acquatherapy area with sensory showers, a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath, as well as a cold plunge for cooling off afterwards.
You Should Know Guests aged 15 and under are not permitted to use the Acquatherapy facilities.
Gym
Guests can burn off a lot of breakfast pasteis de nataat the hotel's very modern gym, which is open round the clock. The 200m² space has excellent Technogym equipment, and guests can also book sessions with personal trainers as well as sunset stretch classes and group runs.
Dining
Buffet breakfast (extra charge for some rooms) is served in the relaxed Sete Colinas restaurant, with the option to eat on the sunny terrace during spring and summer. Guests whose rooms allow access to the Executive Lounge can have dinner on the top floor, with its panoramic views and more upmarket options. Lunch and dinner are on offer at Tipico restaurant, where the menu has an emphasis on fish and meat dishes, including excellent cataplana (seafood stews). There's a good wine list and a knowledgeable sommelier, too.
Tip The hotel's three bars also offer snacks and light meals, from pastries to tapas.
Drinking
Guests at Corinthia Lisboa can choose between three bars. The Tempus Lounge is strong on cocktails and has nice views over the hotel's terrace gardens. The Lobby Lounge is a more traditional watering hole, serving teas, coffees, and pastries as well as stronger drinks; while the sunny Terrace Lounge is open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. for finger food, drinks, and live piano music.
Tip The hotel isn't particularly well-placed for bars nearby, so guests may well find themselves taking a drink at the hotel at least once during their stay.

Getting Around
The hotel is around five miles from the airport, making it a short hop in a cab, although it's also easy to get their and back by metro (changing at Sao Sebastiao). The hotel is a few minutes' walk from the metro station at Praça de Espanha, which reaches the historic downtown in minutes. The TST bus terminal in front of the metro station has fast routes to the beaches of Costa da Caparica and Sesimbra. There are limited attractions within walking distance, but easily available and relatively inexpensive cabs can take you to Alfama, Bairro Alto, and other popular downtown attractions within a few minutes.
Restaurants
Virtually in front of the hotel, restaurant Sete Mares is an excellent bet for super-fresh fish and seafood (the name means Seven Seas). It's not a fancy spot, but it gets packed with locals, and with good reason. For lunch, the cafe in the gardens of the Gulbenkian (15-minute walk) is a nice spot for informal light meals on a pretty terrace surrounded by greenery and waddling ducks.
Bars
With limited options on the doorstep, guests' best bet for bars is to hop on a metro or in a cab to the lively nightlife of Lisbon's touristic heartland. The blue metro line runs straight from Praça de Espanha to Terreiro do Paço, where there's waterfront drinking at Quiosque Ribeira das Naus (5-minute walk and 15-minute metro ride, or 15-minute drive), or eats and drinks from across Portugal at the hugely popular Mercado da Ribeira (15-minute metro ride, changing at Terreiro do Paço)
