Train

Train travel in the vast Alentejo is not for people in a great hurry. Service to the more remote destinations is infrequent—and in some cases nonexistent. A couple of towns, including Évora and Beja, are connected with Lisbon by several trains daily. The Intercidades train leaves from Lisbon's Oriente Station in the Parque da Nações to the Alentejo. You can also catch the Intercidades train at Lisbon's Entrecampos Station.
