Fodor's Expert Review Maria Papoila
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
This restaurant's traditional Alentejan fare is a favorite with locals, and a good spot to grab a quick lunch between museums and sights. This restaurant is split into a dining area and a snack bar/takeout counter. The dining room has vaulted ceilings, and there's also an alfresco area beneath fruit trees in the inner courtyard. The carne de porco à alentejana (pork with clams) is recommended. Other specialties include snails and fondue.
