Fodor's Expert Review Cozinha de Santo Humberto

$ Évora Portuguese

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

One of Évora's oldest restaurants was once a wine cellar. Try the sopa de peixe alentejana (a mixed fish soup) or the carne de porco com ameijoas (small pieces of pork sautéed with clams). Game dishes such as grouse, wild boar, and partridge are particularly good in season (Santo Humberto is, after all, the patron saint of hunters). The list of Alentejo wines is excellent.
