Guadalupe

The tiny village of Guadalupe takes its name from a 17th-century chapel that is dedicated to Nossa Senhora de Gaudalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe). Henry the Navigator was known to attend Mass at this chapel. Nowadays this hamlet hosts a boisterous festival during the last 15 days of July, during which the town's population quadruples. The area is better known for its prehistoric relics. There's also a nighttime summer solstice festival each June.
