In all sizable towns, pharmacies operate on a rotating system for staying open after normal closing hours, including weekends and holidays. Consult a local newspaper or the notice posted on the door of every pharmacy. If you require medical assistance, hospitals in Castel Branco, Coimbra, Figueira da Foz, and Guarda have urgências (emergency rooms).
