Coimbra is 197 km (123 miles) north of Lisbon and 116 km (72 miles) south of Porto. Both cities are connected to Coimbra via the A1 (E80) highway. Intercontinental flights usually arrive in Lisbon, but Porto has an increasing number of European connections, including ones operated by several budget airlines.
