Caramulo

In the early part of the last century, when tuberculosis was rife, people came to Caramulo for the beneficial effects of the fresh mountain air. Although tuberculosis is no longer the problem it once was, the town hasn't lost its appeal. People still head here to enjoy the heather-clad wooded slopes and to walk through the parks and gardens. Mineral water bottled at the nearby spring is popular throughout the country.
