Lodz Theater
The oldest theatre in Łódź continues the tradition of the first permanent stage established in 1888 at Piotrkowska Street, staging both classical and modern drama, unafraid of challenges. Their mission is to find contemporary relevance is clasical plays. Every autumn, Teatr Jaracza hosts the New European Classics Festival, which may include works by such masters as Samuel Beckett, William Shakespeare, Anton Chekhov, August Strindberg, and Peter Brook, interpreted by contemporary Polish and international theater directors and ensembles.
