Air

Gardermoen Airport (OSL), about 45 km (28 miles) north of Oslo, is the major entry point for most visitors. Most flights from North America have at least one connection, though Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), United Airlines (UA), and the budget airline Norwegian have direct flights from New York. Various European airlines fly through their hubs, including Icelandair via Reykjavík, British Airways via London, Lufthansa via Frankfurt, KLM via Amsterdam, and Air France via Paris. A flight from New York to Oslo takes about eight hours.

Within Norway, Norwegian, SAS and Widerøe connect many of the cities by regular flights. SAS and the low-cost airline Norwegian also serve many destinations in Europe, while Widerøe also has flights to a handful of destinations in Sweden, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. Emirates has direct flights from Oslo to Dubai, and Thai Airways and Norwegian fly directly to Bangkok.
