Boat and Ferry Travel

Boats have always been Bergen's lifeline to the world. The jewel in the crown is the Hurtigruten coastal express, which departs daily for the 11-day round-trip to Kirkenes in northern Norway. Norled has several routes, including one to the popular tourist destination of Flåm and the Nordfjord area in the western fjords. Fjord Line sails to Denmark.

Cruise ships dock at Skoltegrunnskaien and Jekteviken/Dokkeskjærskaien. Both are within a 15-minute walk of the city center. Free shuttle buses are available from Jekteviken/Dokkeskjærskaien. From Skoltegrunnskaien, buses stop near the docks.
