Although most newcomers head directly to Bryggen, Sentrum is the real heart of the city. Peaceful Byparken is a popular place for a stroll in summer, or for a spot of sunbathing in between gallery visits. The Norwegian Theater is located at the end of Ole Bulls plass, a tree-lined avenue with many cafés and restaurants—the place to be in the evening.
